Nike Cleats

Nike is one of the largest shoe manufacturers in the world.  They began as a shoe company, and have since grown to produce not just shoes, but all kinds of popular athletic apparel as well.  Being such a large shoe oriented company, Nike of course also makes mens softball cleats.  Their selection in the field, however, is rather limited compared to more cleat focused companies like Mizuno.

Nike shoes tend to run a bit small and narrow, and their cleats are no exception, so make sure when you buy Nike cleats that you consider buying a size larger than you typically wear your shoes.  Mainly, they tend to narrow towards the toe area.

Despite their limited selection,  Nike does make some good softball cleats.  They tend to have a reputation for being a bit heavy on your feet though, compared to Mizuno cleats which typically feel very lightweight.  Nike cleats are among the most expensive cleats.  Nike spends a large percentage of their outgoing money on advertising, so when you purchase Nike cleats you are likely putting some of that money towards Nike’s advertising budget, rather than paying more for a better cleat.

As mentioned above, Nike does have some good cleats, and I have owned and been very happy with some of them in the past.  Generally though, they fall quite a ways down on our list of preferred brands when looking to buy softball cleats.
